The 2009 edition of the Belgian Dutch German summer school (BND 2009) will take place from Sunday, the 13th of September to Thursday, the 24th of September in Rathen, Saxonia, near Dresden, in the eastern part of Germany.
The school is intended primarily for experimental high energy physicists preparing a PhD in particle physics, in particular during their first two years. The lectures cover both theoretical and experimental aspects of the field. The focus of the school alternates every year between electroweak standard model physics and strong interaction physics. This year is devoted to electroweak physics with special focus on the start of LHC experiment at CERN.
Students, especially those who are attending for the second time, are eexpected to present their own work in short seminars of 15 - 20 minutes.
